Sultana M. Pashalidis, MA,LMFT
Clinical Director and Therapist
I am the founder and Clinical Director of Fort Lauderdale Therapy Center. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in Florida, I have more than 20 years of experience in a variety of areas of mental health. I see therapy as a collaborative progression every step of the way- from the initial intake to termination. Together, we look at your strengths and place emphasis on what we know is already working. I believe that each individual has a different way to relating to the world and I tailor treatment for each client based on their individual needs. I presently work with individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families.
I have experience with individuals who have difficulty dealing with and managing Anxiety, Depression, Behavioral Difficulties, Low Self-Esteem, Trauma and Abuse, Fertility Issues, and Social Skills Training. I have experience with adolescents and adults dealing with Body Image Issues and I use a family systems perspective to help them build a healthy recovery environment. My experience with couples ranges from unmarried young adult couples, pre-marital couples, and married couples who want to enhance their intimacy to married couples thinking about or going through a divorce. I also work with the entire family to improve communication, closeness, sibling, and parent relationships. My goal for clients is to help face past hurts, and then make use of the strengths they have acquired through their difficulties. I use therapeutic techniques that are designed to meet those goals (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-CBT, Family Systems Therapy, Psychodrama, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Model, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mind-Body Techniques, Narrative Therapy, Family Mediation, Grief and Loss, etc…).
With over 15 years of clinical experience and training from both the United States and Europe, I provide a well-informed, grounded, and a solution-focused approach to life’s challenges. I have been trained in Systemic Therapy and provide counseling in a rich, Multi-Cultural context. I also specialize in Relationships and Child/Adolescent Treatment. I assist children, teens, and adults with Grief/Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, ADHD, Anger-Management, Oppositional-Defiant Behavior, Parental and Sibling Relations, Adjustment to Medical Illness, Family-blending, Bullying, Cyber-bullying, School and Family Difficulties School and Social Difficulties, as well as Adjustments to Life Changes such as Divorce, Loss, or a Move. I offer Parental Guidance, Family Therapy, Adolescent Groups, and Anxiety and Depression Management Techniques.
I am bilingual and can conduct treatment with you and your family in English or Greek, in addition to some Spanish. Whether you are just beginning to wonder if your child is having a difficulty or have been struggling for some time, I will help you understand your and your child’s struggles in a productive way and together we will explore what can be done to make daily living happier and more harmonious. My aim and hope is to create a safe and comfortable environment for you, where you can work toward achieving your treatment goals. Actualizing YOUR potential is what our time together will bring!
